Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding our employer partnerships by bringing in job orders and creating long-lasting relationships with organizations in skilled trades. This role is crucial for ensuring that our upskilled candidates are connected with the right job opportunities, while also fostering relationships with industry employers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Business Development Initiatives: Identify and develop strategic partnerships with employers, skilled trades companies, and related industries to bring in job orders.
  • Create Employer Relationships: Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers in targeted organizations, promoting UpSkill Trainers’ candidates and services.
  • Partnership Outreach: Actively reach out to skilled trades employers, schools, unions, and industry associations to establish hiring pipelines for our candidates.
  • Achieve Sales Targets: Drive revenue by meeting or exceeding monthly and quarterly targets for job order placements.
  • Develop Recruitment Solutions: Work with employers to understand their recruitment needs and provide customized hiring solutions, including skilled trades workers such as technicians, plumbers, electricians, and more.
  • Collaborate with Internal Teams: Work closely with the recruitment team to align on job orders, ensuring we fulfill employer needs and maintain high-quality talent placement.
  • Market Research: Conduct market analysis to identify potential business opportunities, industry trends, and competitor activities.
  • Attend Networking Events: Represent the company at industry events, career fairs, and networking functions to promote UpSkill Trainers and generate business leads.
  • Partnership Program Management: Oversee and manage partnership agreements, including handling contracts and negotiations with new employers.
  • Reporting and CRM Management: Track business development efforts and maintain detailed records of partner interactions and job orders using CRM tools like Maximizer.
  • Employer Branding: Develop and implement strategies to position UpSkill Trainers as a top provider of skilled trades talent.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of proven experience in business development, sales, or partnership management, ideally in staffing or recruitment for skilled trades.
  • Strong understanding of the skilled trades sector, with experience forming employer partnerships.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans for business growth and relationship management.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate, influence, and build long-term relationships with clients.
  • High level of organization and ability to manage multiple partnerships simultaneously.
  • Experience in using CRM systems like Maximizer to track business development activities.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
